It takes a community…

It really does take a community of faith to raise a child in the faith. Teenagers should have at least four to five adults in their life who they could go tell them the worst possible thing and not feel condemned. Some youth feel that adults are against them already, so it’s important to show them that we are in their corner; appreciating them when they do well, encouraging them when they need it, and being present no matter what. What can you do to be that kind of present in a teenager’s life?

These thoughts above are from Rev. Richard Wood, our partner in ministry for youth, children and social media ministry. He is an associate pastor in Sanford, North Carolina .
